Fughetta & Fugato is the psychedelic live act by Huiya and Ricardo Urku. Originally from southern China and the Andes of Ecuador respectively, they met at university in Germany, where they are now based. Their avant-garde sound is a fusion of deep, groovy basslines combined with elements of aboriginal and classical music, such as counterpoint techniques, orchestral and indigenous instruments. All spiced up with human language, experimental soundscapes and crunchy FM leads. The name of Fughetta & Fugato takes its name from the concept of "fugue". A contrapuntal, polyphonic compositional technique from baroque music. Inspired by nature, art, literature, history and mythology, each of their compositions is born on the piano and has an enlightening story to tell. As such, their life purpose is to protect ancient cultures and the essence of humanity through their music. EP description: Fughetta & Fugatos debut EP "Viddy Well" is the result of countless hours of music study and production. Ranging from 118 to 122 BPM, this EP uses the organ, described by Mozart as the "king of all instruments", as one of the main components in each track. It is an explosion of melodies and heavy synths combined with experimental soundscapes and human language, taking the listener into different dimensions. This EP is inspired by the notes of J.S. Bach, the words of Lu Xun and the scenes of Stanley Kubrik. As such, "Viddy Well" is dedicated to their life and memory.
